Iain Macey Piobreached Workshop Series, Session II
The first workshop was a huge success! We had a great time, a great turn out and everyone learned a lot. We are currently organizing the second worksop in the series.
It is going to take place on the weekend of January 27/28, 2007. We will use the same location.
Once again, the address is: TLC Learning Center 2844 W. 127th Street Blue Island, Illinois. There will be a beginner workshop held in the morning that will cover piobreached basics and a beginner tune. We are tenitively scheduling an intermediate class for this session if there is enough interest. There will also be another advanced class in the afternoon to cover some more demanding tunes.
Sign up with Jason Freeman, once again at the email adress below. jason@chicagopipers.com.

H. Donald Legge 05.11.50 - 02.07.06
I didn't want to have to send an e-mail such as this for a very long time but the time has come. My father passed away today at 12:39 pm. My mother, my Uncle BK and I were with him all night long. We talked to him, read all of his e-mails he had received to him, played all sorts of music that he liked, and I snuggled him on the bed. This morning we knew that the time was approaching that we would have to say good-bye. Some of his close friends came in and saw him. Once again we played music, I sang to him, and we talked to him. I received a phone call about noon and it was from a guy that is on tour with the Black Watch. He said he would have loved for them to stop and see dad and play for him but they just couldn't do it with their schedule. He did give me his cell and I gave him mine and when I go to the performance tomorrow night I am to call them and we are to get together.Thank you so much to his Black Watch mates in Scotland that helped out with all of that. This March 30 years ago my mom and dad met while he was on tour with the Black Watch in Champaign-Urbana. That is where the performance is tomorrow night. Dad kept saying it was like a 30 year reunion tour. Dad was suppose to go with me. I am still attending with a friend of the family to honor my dad and a wonderful Scottish tradition that he belonged to, the Black Watch. I shall take a picture of dad so the lads will know who dad was, aka Weasel to his BW mates ;), and tell them of how wonderful he was.
Shortly after the phone call from the BW he was breathing slower and slower. He was in no pain and went peacefully. My mother was on one side of him holding his hand, our dear friend Patrick was on the other side holding his hand, and I laid on the bed with him and had my head on his chest holding him. He fought till the end though. I want everyone to know that. He was the strong soldier he has always been. Our family is hoping to have the visitation and funeral on Sat. the 18th in Pekin, IL. Plans could change though. We are making sure that everyone knows and dad requested a Sat. so people wouldn't have to take off of work and could be there.
Dad also requested to have a party afterwards and we would love for people to be there. He wants this to be a celebration of his life. We ask that everyone that plays the pipes or drums bring your instrument so as you can play for him. I shall keep you all updated. Please pass this on to anyone that would want or need to know. Thank you for all of your love and support during this trying time. He was a wonderful man and he was my dad.
